The Fertilizer Properties and Fertilization Techniques of Celery

1. Fertility characteristics Celery is a fast-growing green leafy vegetable with strong adaptability and large cultivation area, which occupies an important position in vegetable production and market supply. The absorption of nutrients by celery during growth is consistent with the increase in growth. Although the absorption of different nutrients is different, the absorption dynamics are the same and all show an “S”-shaped curve. That is, as the amount of growth increases, the amount of nutrient absorption increases from small to large. The nutrient absorption of each ton of celery produced is: N2.55 kg, P2O51.36 kg, K2O3.67 kg, and its absorption ratio is 1:0.5:1.4. Practice has proved that about 2 months after the emergence of celery in autumn is the critical period for fertilizer and water management. In addition, celery needs more boron, boron deficiency or due to high temperature, low temperature, drought, etc., so that the amount of boron is inhibited, the petiole prone to "cracking", stem fractures, therefore, production should be added boron fertilizer or Foliar application of multiple micronutrients.

2. Fertilization technology points In green leafy vegetables, the growth period of celery is longer, so pay attention to the application of basal fertilizer. Basal fertilizers should be dominated by organic fertilizers. It is generally required that about 75,000 kilograms of high-quality manure be applied before planting in hectares, combined with site preparation and dipping into the soil. Base fertilizer can also be suitably applied with a small amount of fertilizers, especially phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.

After the application of base fertilizer before planting, in order to promote the growth of celery after replanting, a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer should be topdressed at the time of colonization, with 75-105 kg of urea per hectare. In the early stage of easing of celery, the growth of celery is slow, and the amount of fertilizer is small. Generally, no fertilizer is needed. In the beginning of strong growth, topdressing 1 nitrogen fertilizer, generally 150-225 kg of urea per hectare. Top dressing methods are applied in conjunction with irrigation. After the topdressing, the celery grew even more vigorously. More than 80% of the yield of autumn celery was formed later, and more than 84% of the required nutrients were also absorbed during this period of growth. Therefore, after 15-20 days of fertilization, it should be applied once more. The type, quantity, and method of top dressing are the same as the previous top dressing.

The period of 30-60 days after planting of celery is the period of product organ formation, and it is also the peak period of nutrient absorption. On the basis of topdressing the soil, 2-3 times of foliar dressing should also be performed. Generally, 0.5% urea or diammonium phosphate solution can be sprayed. If the calcium and boron in the soil are insufficient, 0.3% calcium chloride and 0.1% boric acid solution may be separately sprayed to improve the nutritional conditions of celery, which has a certain effect on increasing the yield of celery and obtaining high quality commercial food.
