1 Adding Cooling Water After Startup After the diesel engine is started, the temperature inside the engine immediately rises. If cooling water is added at this time, the cylinder block and the cylinder head will rapidly cool, and cracks will occur due to cold shrinkage.
2 After shutdown, no cooling water was placed. The water in the machine was frozen into ice and the volume was increased. The cylinder block and the cylinder head cracked.
3 When the diesel engine is running for a long time, the temperature inside the engine is high, and the high-temperature water is immediately discharged after the vehicle is parked. This will cause the high-temperature parts to suddenly encounter cold air and crack.
4 When the diesel engine is running, if the cooling water is insufficient or the temperature of the boiler is too high, sudden addition of cooling water may cause cracking of the cylinder block and the cylinder head due to excessive cooling.
5 Shutdown using a reducer causes the high temperature cylinder head to suddenly encounter cold air and cause cracking.
In order to prevent cracking of various cylinder blocks and cylinder heads, the following points should be made:
1 Before starting the diesel engine, warm water should be added to the water tank. In the winter season, hot water should be poured 2 - 3 times. It is better to start the water flowing out of the water discharge valve at about 30 - 50 °C.
2 When the diesel engine runs for a long time, the machine temperature must be high. After stopping, it should wait for about half an hour. When the engine temperature drops to 40--50°C, the cooling water should be released. After the water is discharged, it is best to use a thin wire to open the water valve to prevent the sediment from clogging the drain valve.
3 If the diesel engine is overheated and the water shortage is severe, allow the engine to idle for 10-15 minutes at low speed, and then add the cooling water slowly.
