High-yielding Cultivation Techniques of Potato and Tomato Grafting
In recent years, with the continuous adjustment of the national industrial structure policy, the development of "two high and one excellent" three-dimensional agriculture has become an important direction of agriculture. Potatoes and tomatoes, two major economic crops that have an important status and role in China at the moment, are developing rapidly. However, the method of achieving significant new economic benefits solely by increasing the yield and quality of certain crops has not been effective. To this end, we have succeeded in grafting cultivation of potatoes and tomatoes from the perspective of three-dimensional agriculture, which has doubled the yield and benefits per unit area, and achieved important data on the growth potential of grafted varieties of different rootstocks and scion varieties. At present, this cultivation technology has been rapidly promoted in our region and is now described as follows: 1, material selection After our experiments in 1998-2000, we summarized the compatibility techniques (combinations) of different potato (stockstock) and (cooperative) scions. (1) Selection of rootstocks: The main varieties with outstanding performance characters in grafting cultivation are: Lu Yin No. 1 and Dongnong 303, followed by Kexin No. 4 and No. 15 in the Netherlands. The virus-free seed potato was used in the management after grafting. The growth potential, yield, and stress resistance are more prominent. (2) Selection of scion: The varieties with outstanding scion performance in tomato were: Maofen 802 and Sidong Shuangtian, followed by L-402 and Jiafen No. 2. Among them, the growth potential and survival rate were the highest after 802. , Up to 98.8%; Sung Shuang Shuang grafted survival rate between 94.5% -98.1%, but after grafting yield, quality performance is better. (3) Better cultivation combination of rootstock and scion: After two years of grafting cultivation test, the demonstration showed that the combination of Luyi No. 1 potato and Sidong Shuangtian had a more prominent performance, followed by the combination of No. 15 and Jiafen No. 2 in the Netherlands. 2. Grafting cultivation technology key technologies (1) Main mode of grafting cultivation: Three main planting patterns were obtained after two years of cultivation experiments. Spring cultivation, delayed autumn, and efficient cultivation of potato and tomato grafting in early spring in solar greenhouses. Among them, the efficiency of grafting cultivation in the greenhouse in early spring is the most significant. (2) Cultivation of Grafted Seedlings: The tomato seedlings can be cultivated according to conventional methods. Before and after Nov. 20 of last year, the seedlings were germinated and sown in a solar greenhouse nursery seedlings. The seedlings were divided after about 22-25 days, and the seedlings were planted in the early January of the following year. The stem is about 0.6cm thick, and grafting can be performed when the plant height is 8-10cm. Potatoes were sowed in 3-5 days after germination of tomato with 1.5 mg/kg gibberellic acid solution in 15 mg/kg soaked seeds for 15-22 minutes and then removed and placed in fine sands at about 26 degrees Celsius. Under the germination, buds will be revealed after about 20 days. Large potato cuttings can also be used to germinate, but the germination rate and poor uniformity. The germinated seed potatoes are then planted in 10cm*10cm squares in a nursery pot and watered to ensure plant growth.
