Mature fruit trees are pruned

The pruning of mature fruit trees is aimed at “improving the illumination, improving branch quality, and stabilizing the quality and increasing production”. The focus of pruning is to remove the densely-furnished Daisong rearing branches, large side branches and large branch groups in batches as much as possible. The above-reserved branchlets extend outward, and the total branches account for less than 20% of the total branches of the whole tree to facilitate the illumination of the innermost layer. High tree crowns should be gradually lowered and plucked, depending on the strength of the tree, and the tree height should be controlled to be less than 3.5 meters; if the canopy has been handed over, the peripheral dense crowded branches should be removed or transformed into small branch groups to extend the length of the branches. Change the direction and angle of the main lateral branch so that the upper and lower sides are staggered with each other, and the crown distance is maintained at about 1 meter so as to improve the lighting condition of the group and individuals.
