Recently, at the European Anesthesia Conference, a joint study conducted by China and the United States showed that patients who underwent bypass surgery received aspirin before and after surgery, and the risk of death after 4 years decreased by 18% to 34%.

Preoperative and postoperative administration were defined as 5 days before surgery and continued until discharge.

The study showed a 4-year mortality reduction of 18% (14.8% vs 18.1%, P = 0.0048) in preoperative patients compared with those who did not take aspirin before surgery.

The difference in postoperative aspirin was greater. Compared with patients who did not take aspirin after surgery, the 4-year mortality rate was 34% (10.7% vs 16.2%, P=0.0029).

For patients undergoing bypass surgery, stress reactions and the like can promote thrombosis and have a tendency to increase the risk of long-term vascular disease and death. Aspirin as a secondary prevention drug for cardiovascular disease has also been tested by a large number of experiments.

Reporter, Professor Jianzhong Sun of Thomas Jefferson University in the United States pointed out that perioperative use of aspirin was associated with a significant reduction in mortality after 30 days of surgery and improved long-term survival without significantly increasing postoperative bleeding complications. .

He said that patients who want to bypass the bridge should take aspirin before and after surgery as long as there are no contraindications.

In this study, the researchers conducted a survey of 9,584 surgical patients in three medical centers, of which 4,132 patients underwent bypass surgery. In the subjects, 76.5% took aspirin before surgery and 92.3% took aspirin after surgery.
